Telecom Infrastructure
Serving the RF, microwave and millimetre wave needs for the wireless industry, and in particular Point to Point, Point to Multi-Point, BTS backhauls and VSAT applications with leading edge products, both standard and ASIC, in bare die and packaged forms. UMS is recognized as a key partner by all of the major Telecom Companies.
UMS offers one of the most extensive ranges of Space evaluated and qualified technologies and products and has a considerable heritage through supplying to many major programs with all of the main worldwide Space players.
Defence and Security
Offering leading edge technologies and products, particularly for high power applications, UMS has enabled the construction of advanced but cost effective EW, radar and communication systems and is a critical partner in the majority of European Defence programs. This capability is now being extended to serve the emerging Security market.
As a pioneer in the supply of  MMIC solutions for Long Range Radar (77GHz) and Short range radar (24GHz/79GHz) applications, UMS has enabled customers to achieve their required functionality while reducing costs. UMS continue to offer advanced solutions for all the frequency bands, in both GaAs and SiGe technologies, with innovative architectures and packaging solutions.
UMS offers product solutions for the Industrial, Scientific and Medical markets. An example of this is the road tolling application at 5.8GHz where we offer a single chip solution for the on-board equipment in high volume, challenging the performance and cost of conventional discrete solutions.

Our technologies offer leading edge performance and high volume capability; many are available in open foundry service mode.
