The European regulation N°1907/2006 « REACH » (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization of CHemicals) came into force on 1st June 2007.
The regulation objective is to check the use of the chemical substances in the European Union.
UMS is well aware of the tremendous challenge the compliance to the regulation implies for the Supply Chain as REACH applies to all substances on their own or contained in preparations or articles.
Following the pre-registration phase which has just ended the 1st December 2008, UMS has now the confirmation that UMS product key suppliers or the actors in their supply chain are engaged in the compliance with the REACH regulation.
All substances in the UMS products were pre-registered further up in the Supply Chain when required and none of substances are concerned by the candidate list (Substances of Very High Concern) – see on http://echa.europa.eu/chem_data/candidate_list_table_en.asp according to the article 33, UMS will inform its customers within 45 days upon request.
A data management process with the suppliers is implemented to continuously ensure the conformity to REACH regulation taking into account the European news on http://echa.europa.eu. particularly when the Annex XIV is published.
All UMS chip form products and all UMS packaged products are compliant with this EU REACH regulation.
